How cool to see all those old tractors! I’ve driven a few of the models that you photographed, I must be really old if they are considered vintage. 😉

Absolutely ancient like me! My husband took as many photos as he could. We missed the start as we were indoors and only realised it was happening when we heard the engines roaring past. Some of the tractors had trailers with passengers sitting on kitchen chairs! I wish we’d been able to get a picture of that!

We got stuck behind fifty vintage tractors who were on an outing from Carlisle a few weeks ago when we were going to our choir. It was pouring with rain but they all looked very happy.

I dread getting stuck behind rallies. A couple of weeks ago I nearly got stuck behind a rally of old U.S. army vehicles but I managed to take evasive action.

Never thought there’d be a rally for vintage tractors. But then, I don’t think about tractors anyhow.

There seem to be rallies for every sort of transport or machine – a bit geeky but harmless I think. We live in the middle of farmland and have tractors passing by our house all day every day.

This is great, Clare.

Hey, Clare: Forgot to ask – were you or your husband driving one of these old beauties? In the village where we lived previously, the tractor pull is always a big feature of the spring fair. And when the international ploughing match comes to town…. well…

No, we weren’t driving any of these but this happens every year and passes by the end of our drive. We had forgotten all about it until we heard the roaring engines going past! My husband missed seeing and photographing quite a few of them but I think we had enough!
